Users can search within the contents of scanned or digitally created typed documents stored in the platform.

Handwritten text may be visible in some cases; however, accuracy is not guaranteed and may vary depending on image quality and legibility.

 

Important limitations:

  • Only documents uploaded after the feature is enabled are searchable. 
  • Search results are limited to supported file types (.PDF and .DOCX).
  • Documents larger than 2,000 pages or 500 MB are not supported

 

Using Filters Panel

    1. Navigate to Evidence
    2. Select Filters
    3. Locate Document Text and enter the text to search for (e.g. Sally) and press Enter

 Results: 

    • Evidence documents matching the searched term will appear in the Matched On column. 
    • A preview panel also appears on the right-hand side of the screen, showing highlighted snippets where the text appears in the document.


4. Select any highlighted snippet to open the document directly to the corresponding page OR click Details Page at the bottom of the preview panel to open the full document view.

  1. Click a Snippet in the preview panel 
  2. The document opens in the Documents tab. 
  3. All matching instances of the searched term are highlighted within the document
  4. Use the up and down arrows near the text searched for or click individual snippets to navigate between matches and jump directly to each occurrence.  

 

 Searching for a New Term in the Same Document

To search for a different term within the same document:

  • Click the “X” icon next to the current search term to clear the existing search. 
  • Enter the new term in the search field. 
  • Press Enter to run the new search. 

The results will update to reflect matches for the new term within the document.

In addition to using filters, there are other ways to find evidence depending on your workflow:
