Purpose

This document provides step-by-step instructions for creating a Community Request using the Axon Capture mobile application. A Community Request allows you to request and collect media (such as photos or videos) from the public related to an incident.


 1. Open Axon Capture

  • Launch the Axon Capture app on your mobile device.
  • Authenticate using your agency credentials if prompted.


2. Start a New Request

  • Tap the “Community Request” Tile


3. Enter Request Details

Fill in the required fields:

  • Incident ID (if applicable): Link to an existing case or reference number.
  • Add Categories: Select a category or categories that best fit the type of case you are collecting this evidence for
    • Note: If you do not see the Category list verify that you’re logged into the application
  • Description: Add details about the incident to guide the community on what content you’re requesting.


4. Select a Delivery Method

Choose how the individual will receive the request link:

  • Email or SMS: Send directly to individuals.


5. Review and Submit

  • Confirm all entered information.
    • Preferred but optional
  • Choose a Language to send the invitation in
  • Tap "Send"


6. Monitor Submissions

  • Submissions from the public will appear in Axon Evidence, under the associated case or request.
