Steps to begin & end recording using the Axon Interview tablet:


1. Tap the screen to wake the tablet.

2. Enter your LCSO ID # in the username field.

3. Tap Login, confirm your name, tap Yes.

4. Tap Create Interview & fill out the required metadata:

  • ID (case number) & Interviewee (who you're interviewing.)
  • Tap Next.

5. Select the appropriate Category, tap Next & confirm the metadata is correct.

6. Tap Start Recording (the LED light outside the room will light up red, indicating recording has begun.)

  • To avoid onlookers, click Lock. This will gray out the screen so people strolling through the hallway can't watch the interview from the tablet.
  • To unlock it, enter your ID # (anyone in CIB can do this.)
  • If someone unlocked the tablet to watch the interview without permission, please contact IT so we can run an audit.

7. Once complete, return to the tablet, tap Stop Recording, a confirmation will appear, tap Stop Recording to confirm.

8. Logout (the video will automatically upload to evidence.com under your ID #.)

Live Streaming an Interview:


Directions for the Interviewer

  • Once you've started an interview, tap Streaming Password then Generate Key.
  • Take a picture of the passcode & send it to whoever you'd like to live stream the interview.


Directions for the Interview Watcher:

  • Open the Axon Live Streaming app on your laptop/desktop (if you don't have the app, contact IT.)
  • A Select Server screen will appear. Click Submit.
  • Login using your ID # and 20-character password.
  • Click Live Interviews (in the panel on the left.)
  • Click on the room the interview is taking place & enter the passcode the interviewer sent you. 
  • Once it's open, click the sound icon, then the yellow number button(s) (shown below.) This will enable the microphone(s) so you can hear the interview.
