Permissions: Any jail supervisors can approve initial confinement of inmates. Specific supervisors, such as those over Classification, have permission to approve other aspects of the confinement, such as release from confinement.

Log in to the LCSO Intranet and open the Admin/Protective Custody web application.

Approvals can be made through the confinement details page, for the following supervisor approval types:

  • Signing off on the original confinement of the inmate (Any jail supervisor)
  • Signing off on a weekly reevaluation review (Classifications supervisor)
  • Releasing the Inmate from confinement (Classifications supervisor)
  • Admin approval of actions taken (Captain/Designee)

In order to streamline the process of approvals, a consolidated view of pending approvals with quick actions is provided under the Approvals tab of the app.
(Supervisors only)

Example view; note the approval types vary per status of the confinement.

Three Actions are available on each Pending Approval:

View Confinement Details (blue): Open the confinement to view more details.

Approve (green): Mark as approved. Weekly reevaluation reviews do not require confirmation, while new/released confinements will prompt you to sign.

Reject (red): Mark as not approved. Weekly reevaluation reviews do not require confirmation. Rejecting a new confinement will unlock the confinement details, so that the submitting officer can correct whatever issues you communicate that you had with the original submission, and resubmit.
