This article should familiarize you w/ our new Mobile Map I will explain the different tabs that should be available to you when you launch the application.
Dispatch Map vs. Mobile Map
To open the Mobile Map click on the globe icon in Flex mobile, for dispatch type map into the command line.
Mobile Map will launch in a separate window and will look slightly different for dispatch and road units. The map by default will zoom out to the world view and a home button can be set to zoom to a point of your choosing in Lake County, I will show you how to do that shortly
On the left side of the screen you will see the different features of the Mobile Map, each of the items are labeled for demonstrative purposes
1.) Search It may pull information from outside of lake county because has access to general map data w/ the ESRI company, after a search is made you will see the address in a drop down field which can be selected and will then zoom to.

2.) Quickest Route The second feature down is not currently available and can be bypassed
3.) CAD Call - Shortcut to CAD Call

The mobile shortcut will automatically return to mobile and open the cad call screen
The Dispatch Map will open a pane, providing options to show devices, units, calls if selected.
4.) Message Center - Shortcut to message center, and is only available for the mobile map application
5.) Law - Shortcut to the law incident screen in message center, and is only available for the mobile map application
6.) Maps - The Maps feature will allow you to switch between the different maps that we have available, once clicked it will slide out a pane and display a dropdown of the maps available. The options that we will use are Default, Day, Openstreet, Imagery, & Cadmaptesting(file name may change).
"Default" is our night map with Day being our daytime map. Openstreet gives a bigger emphasis on the streets and makes them easier to see, Imagery provides satellite view of the map and lastly Cadmaptesting will provide an overlay of the law zones and labels for those zones.

Dispatch Map does appear differently and will allow dispatch to deselect map features, in addition they are also able to click the dropdown box to change the map layer in use ie.) default, openstreet, imagery, & cadmaptesting.
7.) Bookmarks - Here bookmarks can be created at the Agency, User, Group, & World level.
To create a book mark in mobile
A.) Zoom the map to the view that you wish to save as a bookmark, for this example I'm going to zoom out to view Lake County
B.)Next click the book mark tab on the left side of the screen
C.) Once clicked a pane will slide out, Click the Add Bookmark Option
D.) You can then choose to set a bookmark for World, Agency, Group, or User. You will only be able to add bookmarks for yourself if you don't have additional permissions to add for World, Agency, or Groups. In this case simply make a name for the bookmark you wish to make and click save.
E.) After the bookmark is saved navigate back to the bookmark tab and click it which will slide out the pane, you will find the bookmark you created under user unless you were able to create one underneath world, agency, or group. When you hover over the created bookmark you will see the following options below.
The Star allows you to save the bookmark as a favorite.
The Home icon allows you to save the bookmark as the default view when cad map is opened.
The pencil allows you to edit the bookmark, change who can see the bookmark and rename
The last option will allow a user to delete the created bookmark
If you are in dispatch to add a bookmark click the bookmarks feature
Click Add Bookmark
Select the bookmark scope, then enter the user ID into "select a value", then name your bookmark and save It. This will display on a list to the left underneath the scope you selected ie.) World, Agency, Group, User.
8.) Measure Distance Feature - This feature will allow you to select two points and measure the distance in between them. To do so click the measure distance button then select two or more points to measure the total distance, hit escape on the keyboard to cancel the action. This feature functions the same way for dispatch and Mobile.

9.) Measure Area Feature - The measure area feature will allow you to select 3 or more points and calculate the total area of coverage. To do so click the measure area button, then select 3 or more points on the map to get the area of coverage. You can hit escape on the keyboard to cancel this action.

The measure area feature is a sub option of measure for the dispatch map, they'll select measure and then the option circled to use measure area.
10.) Feature Info - This button will provide additional information about a point on the map. To use, click the feature info button then select a point on the map and a pane will slide out providing more details including the law zone assigned, or the city the point might be in.

11.) Settings Mobile - Most of these features will not get used however pay special attention to day mode & night mode, this will set a default to which map layer you want to use. You can refer to section 6.) for short explanations on the map layers we have.
Settings for Dispatch map provides different options than mobile. It will allow dispatch to make changes to show/hide map markers, default zoom distance, visibility of calls, visibility of units, and more.
12.) Filters - For the mobile map these are available on the top right of the screen it will allow you to select active & inactive units as well as calls. For dispatch filtering is used in CAD shortcut

For dispatch to access the same feature you will go to settings
Go to Advanced settings
Select your options for what you want to display for calls & Units etc.
